Organization Profile

Hoops4L.Y.F.E. acronym for helping Low-income Youth and Families Everywhere. mission is to empower and redirect at-risk youth and young adults in a community-based program that incorporates life skills in conjunction with teaching the fundamentals of basketball as a prevention method to reduce juvenile crime and promotes positive social change in Winston-Salem, NC.  

Hoops4L.Y.F.E. consist of three programs 38-week After-school program, 10-week summer enrichment program, and year-round basketball competition. The after-school program operates from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. During the after-school each child is provided with a nurientous snack, tutoring and mentoring. The 10-week summer enrichment program operates from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Each child is provided with lunch and snack. During the enrichment program children are exposed to educational field trips, teachers, and tutors to help brigde the academic gap and develop social emotional intelligence. Each child is provided with tools to chart success academically and on the basketball court. 

Hoops4L.Y.F.E. encourages parent to be apart of their children success with offering parenting classes and refering parent to our partnering organizations that offer different services such as mental health, food assistance and utilities assistance.
