Organization Profile

iCan House provides social skills instruction and coaching for those with social differences ages 8 to adult, both in a group setting and one-on-one. Family and parent involvement is essential so we also host discussion groups for parents, caregivers, and professionals. Although a diagnosis is not required, many members have Asperger's Syndrome, PDD-NOS, ADD/ADHD, anxiety or other related communication disorders that cause them to have difficulty with social interactions. Participants are verbal, bright, and highly capable, and yet all have social challenges, and thus may be at a disadvantage because of this. In essence we have social clubs for those who are all "similarly different," within a casual, welcoming community. Everything we do is steeped in positivity: to seek and act upon positive choices in the midst of the challenges. With a positive approach, along with accessible information and support, parents can make wise decisions to position their children for success.
